After his family moved from London at the early age of 9 months old, Eli grew up and lived in rural southern France for the majority of his life. He started taking an interest in dance at a very early age and started taking ballroom and latin dance classes at 8 years old, as it was the only dance style offered to him locally. Over the next four years, he trained hard in all areas of Ballroom and Latin, competing all around southern France and in 2016, came 2nd in his Règion. A few years later, he started taking an interest to different types of dance, he began doing ballet, jazz, contemporary, all while keeping up his passion for ballroom and latin. It was only in 2018, when he was enrolled into a Musical Theatre summer camp that he took a big interest to Singing and Acting as well as dance. He became obsessed with the idea of being in Musical Theatre onstage, and it very quickly became his ambition to attend drama school in the U.K. Over the last few years, he has been perfecting his technique and branching out on all types of dance from all over the world. And in 2023, he was offered a place at the world renowned Laine Theatre Arts after auditioning for schools all over and around London. I started Ballet classes when I was just 5 years old after my Dad noticed I kept walking on my tip toes around the house.
I completed Ballet examinations up to Advance 1 and throughout this journey also sparked a particular interest in contemporary dance and musical theatre, performing in curtain raisers and shows across the Midlands. I went to study Dance at the University of Roehampton achieving a First Class Honours and went on to complete my final year at the Royal Academy of Dance in Battersea gaining PGCE with QTS. Post studies, I was blessed to be able to work full time in a Performing Arts school for 4 years with students aged 11-18 teaching GCSE and BTEC specifications and choreographing for shows with large audiences. In addition, I recently completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training which has helped to develop my understanding of body awareness and something I find useful integrating into Dance classes to support physical and mental well-being. Teaching has always been my ultimate passion and I am still working hard to diversify my skills in a variety of styles!
